Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I sign up for skating classes?
A: Contact us at (65) 9368 4435 or email us at weskate2gtr@gmail.com to check the availability. We will send you a registration form if there is slot available. If you have signed up via our website, please kindly drop us a Whatsapp message to inform us.
Q: What kind of lesson should I go for?
A: We have 3 main types of lessons to offer - Open Group Class, Small Group Class and Private Class. We can also cater to larger groups for Corporate or School programs as well as Private parties or celebrations.
Q: What is the difference between Open Group Classes and Small Group Classes?
A: Open Group Classes have participants of various ages and these classes are based on a fixed schedule. As for Small Group Classes, you can form your own group and can have the class at a different timing outside of open group class schedules.
Q: How many participants are required to start a Small Group Class?
A: Minimum 3 and maximum 5 participants.
Q: I do not have equipment. Can I start the class?
A: Yes. Equipment will be provided free for the 1st package of 4 lessons. A fee of $7.50/session or $30/package will be charged for subsequent packages if you are still using our equipment, regardless of the number of pieces of equipment used.
Q: What are the equipment that will be provided?
A: A helmet, a full set of wrist guards, elbow guards, knee guards and a pair of inline skates will be provided.
Q: If I have my own equipment, will there be any discount or reduction in the fee?
A: No, the fees are standard regardless of whether the student possesses his/her own equipment.
Q: I have recommended some people to sign up for classes, will I be entitled to any discount?
A: Referrals do not entitle you to a discount on your own package unless it is a from a promotional offer. Please kindly check with our coaches if such a promotion is available.
Q: What is the minimum age you take in?
A: We recommend age 5 years and above to start. This is because the participant will be able to understand and process instructions better. However, we do take in 4 year olds too, if the participant is ready to learn.
Q: I am interested to start lesson tomorrow. Can I do so?
A: Registration for class needs to completed at least 2 days in advanced. Complete registration includes full payment of the necessary fees and completion of the registration form.
Q: How do I know if my child is making progress?
A: Every participant will receive an individual online profile upon successful registration, which consists of their syllabus, attendance and progress. This profile will be updated after each class and you can view it online with the link provided.
Q: How can I make payment for lesson fees?
A: We accept payment via PayNow or PayLah.
Q: Can I just take 1 or 2 lessons?
A: No, we do not accept single session sign-ups. All main lessons are in a package of 4 sessions. Corporate and school programs have different arrangements.
Q: I signed a package but I decided to quit after attending 2 sessions. Can I get a refund?
A: No refund will be entertained unless due to special reasons and will be addressed on a case-to-case basis.
Q: I have 3 sessions left but my friend’s child have finished his sessions. Can I transfer a session to him for him to continue?
A: Transferring of sessions between students is not permitted. However, you can only do so if you decide to terminate your class, subjected to our approval via a write-in to us.
Q: The sky looks dark. Will lesson be cancelled?
A: If weather is bad and lesson will be cancelled, you will receive a notification via WhatsApp at least 30-60 minutes before class. Please note we will not carry out classes in wet weather or on wet surfaces.
Q: It started to rain 15 minutes into the lesson. Is the lesson considered forfeited?
A: If rain occurs less than 30 minutes into the lesson, your lesson will not be forfeited and will carry forward to the following week. If rain occurs more than 30 minutes into the lesson, the lesson will be considered complete.
Q: If it rains 40 minutes into the class and the class is cancelled, will I have the remaining 20 minutes compensated at the next class?
A: No balance of lesson timing will be brought forward to subsequent classes. The class will be either considered completed entirely or cancelled and brought forward entirely.
Q: How long do I have to complete a package?
A: A period of 6 weeks is given to complete a package. However, if there are special reasons for extension (for e.g. exams, overseas trip or illness recuperation) you can write in to us for permission. Do note that absence without prior notification will render the lesson as void. Avoid missing out on classes as regular practice and guidance is required to see results. Long absence may cause a delay in the progression of the student.
Q: In a Small Group Class, if 2 participants wants to continue class but 1 needs to be absent, can we have a make-up class for the absentee on another day?
A: No make-up class will be allowed for single participant who missed out classes as that will be considered a Private arrangement.
Therefore in a Small Group Class, all participants must attend the classes together. If any participant requires to be absent, the entire group can choose to postpone the class together. But do note that only a maximum of 6 weeks is allowed for a Small Group package to complete the classes.
Q: Is there insurance coverage for participants?
A: No, we do not provide insurance coverage.
Q: Why am I requested to switch to another timing for my Open Group Class (if it happens)?
A: We will conduct our Open Group Classes with a minimum attendance of 3 pax. Should the attendance is projected to fall below this number, then the slot will close as we do not conduct the class for 1 or 2 pax only. In such cases, we will try to relocate the existing student to other slots. If you are unable to cater to the switch, you can attend the class at the following week and your class will not be forfeited. But rest assured that such situations are rare and we will try our best to cater to a fixed schedule for your class.
Q: Why am I (or my child) stuck in the same level/skill for a long time? Can we skip the current skill if I am stuck and move onto the next skill?
A: Our program is a progressive build up to improve our student's abilities in all aspect and the degree of difficulty increases with the progression. Please be patient and practice your skill diligently and correctly with our Coach's guidance and you will master the skill. However, we do not recommend skipping one skill and moving onto the next, as it may be more harder to learn it without acquiring the current skill which serves a foundation for the next skill.
In order for our coaches to deliver the skills properly, the students must be willing to learn. Therefore progression of skills and levels depends on the student's learning attitude, efforts and attention too.
