Review of SNS 2024

2024 was a fantastic year for us and our skating community. We completed a total number of 9 night skates, covering various areas in Singapore. Here is a recap of them:

January - Loop in town

We began the year with our customary skate in town, starting from and ending at Orchard ION, through significant landmarks such as Gardens by the Bay, Marina Bay Sands, Sports Hub, etc.

March - Bishan Ang Mo Kio Park to Woodlands Causeway Point Mall

After the Chinese New Year break in February, we resumed our Night Skate and took on this challenging journey which includes Old Upper Thomson Road and Mandai PCN. We also had the pleasure of skating through a pitch dark Park Connector - Ulu Sembawang PCN, the only PCN that is without any lighting.

April - Hosting visitors from Perth, Australia

In April, we hosted Mr. David Capper and Ms. Sarah Andros from Australia and had the pleasure of leading them through iconic locations such Marina Bay Sands, Orchard Road, Gardens by the Bay, Marina Barrage and the aggressive skate park located at Somerset.

May - Toa Payoh Central to Gardens by the Bay

This journey spans across Whampoa PCN, Kallang PCN and Kallang Riverside Park to the Sports Hub before transiting into Tanjong Rhu PCN which leads to Gardens by the Bay East and Marina Barrage.

June - WestGate to VivoCity

We took to the west in this month and started from one of the iconic malls in the region at WestGate and travelled via West Coast Park, Haw Par Villa and Berlayer Creek towards HarbourFront Centre and VivoCity in the South.

July - Changi Airport to East Coast Park

This journey is always fun as we visited the famous Jurassic Mile at Changi Airport terminal 4 before transiting into East Coast Park and ending at a nostalgic skating rink located at Marine Cove which is the birth place for many veteran local skaters for some disco fun.

August - Woodlands to Bishan

This journey spans across a variety of Park Connectors that linked most of the neighborhood heartlands togther, from Woodlands to Sembawang, and Yishun and Khatib. The route along Lentor Ave was challenging with many ongoing construction projects but it got better when we are in the Yio Chu Kang vicinity. We also had the pleasure of skating at one of the few routes right under the MRT tracks linking Ang Mo Kio and Bishan.

September - Punggol to Paya Lebar

We started from Waterway Point Mall, the most iconic mall in the Punggol precinct and skated through the award-winning Punggol Waterway and moving onto Serangoon PCN and Hougang Ave 3 PCN. Paya Lebar precinct houses many attractive malls such as Paya Lebar Square and Paya Lebar Quarter Mall.

November - Orchard to VivoCity

This was our last night skate of 2024 before the Christmas holidays in December and we completed a relaxing and scenic route from Orchard ION Mall to VivoCity at HarbourFront Centre. We had fun skating through town with all the Christmas festivities already in place and the pleasure of visiting One Marina - one of the most iconic residential building in Singapore's central business district.
